The line graph shows us the number of annual visits to Australia by overseas residents. The table shows which countries these visitors came from. In this essay I will describe the information in the line graph and table.

This graph shows us there were 10 million people who visited Australia in 1975. On the other hand there were 15 million visitors in 1985. The number of visitors increased sharply and reached 24 million visitors in 1995. The number of visitors increased further when it reached more than 30 million visitors in 2005.

This table shows us that Japan had the highest number of visitors, 2.9 million in 1975 and 9.1 million visitors in 2005. The lowest country was china with 0.3 million in 1975 and the number of visitors increased in 2005 to 0.8 million visitors. The total of all visitors was 8.8 million in 1975 and it increased in 2005 to 30.4 million.

In conclusion the number of visitors increased nearly fourfold between 1975 and 2005.

Prtfolio Task6
Ahmed Manaa Alshamsi(H00155812)
ENGL N264/CLX

In these days some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to cooperate rather than compete become more useful adults. In this essay I will write whether I agree or disagree with this statement.

There are two sides to any argument. I disagree with the people who think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged because it shows the seeds of hatred and envy in the hearts of little kids. Another argument is because it kills the spirit of cooperation. A further argument is that if the kids do this way the number of friends will be decreased.

On the other hand, I agree with the people who believe that children who are taught to cooperate rather than compete become more useful adults because this way makes the children like each other. Another argument is that if the children are taught to cooperate the number of friends will increase. A further argument is that this way encourages them to learn.

In conclusion, as you can see, there are two sides to any argument and I hope the people use the right way for themselves.

Portfolio Task5

ENGL N264/CLX

These days many people want a healthy life but they don’t know how. Some people eat balanced meals to get a healthy life. In this essay I will write whether I agree or disagree with this statement.

There are two sides to any argument. I agree with the people who eat balanced meals because there are many vitamins in them that the human body needs. Another argument is that the balanced meals don’t badly affect the human body. A further argument is that the balanced meals are much healthier because they provide for the body what it needs.

On the other hand, I disagree with the people who eat a balanced diet because they deny their stomach what it needs. Another argument is that some of the balanced diet meals are detrimental to the health of people. A further argument is that the diet meals do not provide for the body what it needs.

In conclusion, as you can see, there are two sides to any argument and I hope the people use the healthier way for themselves.
